Terms of Use
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Okulo (the “Software”), including binaries, installers, documentation, and the website at getokulo.dev. By downloading, installing, or using the Software, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Software.
1. Acceptance
You must be able to form a binding agreement. If you use Okulo on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization — and that organization must hold a commercial license before any commercial use (see Section 3).
2. License grant (personal & evaluation)
Subject to these Terms, Erikson Murrugarra (“Licensor”) grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use the Software solely for personal, non-commercial, and evaluation purposes, free of charge.
The full proprietary license text is also in the LICENSE file distributed with the project. These Terms and that license apply together; if they conflict on commercial use, the stricter commercial restriction controls.
3. Commercial use
Commercial use requires a separate written license from the Licensor. Without that license, you may not use the Software for commercial purposes, including without limitation:
- Use inside a company, startup, or other organization
- Team workflows, shared CI/CD, or production engineering processes
- Paid consulting, client delivery, or services that rely on Okulo
- Any use primarily intended for commercial advantage or monetary compensation

4. Restrictions
Except as expressly permitted in writing by the Licensor, you may not:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software, except to the extent applicable law expressly prohibits this restriction
- Copy, modify, or redistribute the source code of the Software
- Sell, sublicense, rent, lease, or redistribute the Software (or substantial portions of it) as your own product or service
- Use the Software to build a competing product that copies Okulo’s proprietary logic, reports, or substantial non-public implementation
- Remove or obscure copyright, trademark, or proprietary notices
5. Ownership
The Software is licensed, not sold. All title, copyright, and other intellectual property rights in and to Okulo, its name, logos, and documentation remain with the Licensor. No rights are granted except as expressly stated in these Terms.
6. Website & analytics
The website may collect anonymous usage analytics (for example page views and install-related events) to improve the product and site. The Software itself analyzes local Git repositories on your machine; results stay on your systems unless you choose to share them.
7. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SOFTWARE AND WEBSITE ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NONINFRINGEMENT. Okulo’s metrics and estimates are analytical aids, not professional, legal, or accounting advice.
8. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE LICENSOR SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SOFTWARE OR WEBSITE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. THE LICENSOR’S TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR A COMMERCIAL LICENSE IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM (OR ZERO IF YOU USE ONLY THE FREE PERSONAL/EVALUATION LICENSE).
9. Changes
The Licensor may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when that happens. Continued use of the Software or website after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
